ELI 360 has always emphasized the importance of getting an education that prepares you, the student, for your future career. For this reason, ELI 360 actively seeks out partner universities who readily offer their students with unique opportunities to grow and develop in whatever field they have chosen to major in.

Ms. Bobbi Hughes, PLU's new Director of Employer Relations, will be helping students and employers connect with each other.

Ms. Bobbi Hughes, PLU's new Director of Employer Relations, will be helping students and employers connect with each other.

One of our two latest partner universities, Pacific Lutheran University (PLU), located in Tacoma, Washington, has recently created a new “employer’s relations” position on their campus. Ms. Bobbi Hughes, who has been advocating for students at the university’s Women’s Center, has now been named to the new post as “Director of Employer Relations”.

Under this new capacity, Hughes will be working closely with the university’s dean of student academic success and director of Academic Advising to connect students with future employers in the region. A large part of Hughes’ responsibility will involve helping students who do not know where to begin looking for jobs and internships by first reaching out and connecting with local employers, introducing these companies to the PLU campus.

Hughes seeks to build on the current network that has already been established by the university’s Career Connection and Alumni Office, as well as further expanding the network by attracting more employers to look into recruiting from PLU’s graduates.

In short, Hughes’ new role will be one that further increases the PLU student body’s opportunities in the job market through active network building.
