U.S. Economic Woes & University Enrollment
U.S. Private University Education one of the BEST INVESTMENTS

In the U.S. many watch the New York Stock Exchange to stay informed on the economic situation. In other nations this practice is the same. Even with concerns about the economy most families with 16 to 19 year old children are looking beyond the present circumstance and are examining the future.
In a recent news piece written by The Associated Press entitled “Chinese Students Head to U.S. to Study” it explained how families recognize that education is an important component in the development of their child’s future and the family’s future welfare. In fact, many families around the world this past year decided that the U.S. still offers the best opportunity for higher education at the university level. And, this has helped increase the number of students enrolling in the U.S.
A snapshot survey done by the Institute of International Education (IIE) did on campuses this fall found that 55 percent reported increases in students from China, the most from any country.
“The misperceptions have finally been laid to rest – that it’s impossible to get a visa,” said Peggy Blumenthal, IIE’s chief operating officer. Students choosing schools “are looking strictly at academic issues, because there’s no reason to believe they’ll have any more trouble getting to the States than getting to Australia.”
Xiaoli Liu, an Ohio State freshman from Beijing, said Chinese universities offer solid academics but can’t compete with the overall experience of an American college, including more opportunities for out-of-class activities, an open learning environment and diversity.
“In China you can seldom find people from the U.S., but in the U.S. you find people from all over the world,”Xiaoli said. – The Associated Press “Chinese Students Head to U.S. to Study,” November 17, 2008
India continues to be the country ranked number one for students studying in the U.S. with China and South Korea following at number 2 and 3.
“While the world economy is struggling, education is still the best investment for anyone or family to make,” said Erik Presley, president of ELI 360. “While current circumstances may be difficult, education is one of the investments that has a return for a life time and cannot be measured in monetary value alone. Especially when one considers how education produces new ideas, solutions and prosperity.”
This is especially true in the education environments of the U.S. university campus. In no other part of the world does the education system excel like in the U.S. to provide students the development as whole persons. Students not only gain knowledge but they develop leadership skills and new critical thinking skills that make them more prepared for the 21st century. As individuals and families examine different opportunities to improve their current situation education is a product that provides a guaranteed return with the potential to increase welfare.
Currently ELI 360 offers individuals and families a 95% success rate for admissions into private U.S. universities and it is ready to help international students today. For more information contact info@eli360.com.
